Dr. Shu-Chen Yen realized that as an immigrant, she didn't know her own rights outlined in the Bill of Rights despite being in the U.S. for over twenty years. Being an associate professor at Cal State Fullerton in the Department of Child and Adolescent Studies, she also saw a need for an easy-to-understand resource explaining the Bill of Rights for children, especially disabled children. Dr. Yen and her son wrote a short book explaining the Bill of Rights in easy terms and translated into different languages.
I took on this pro bono project and created illustrations in a children's book style, helping to make the content even easier to understand and also interesting to read. Here are some samples:
